Abitare Minimo

Abitare Minimo is a project proposal for a minimal shelter to be located on mountain trails above 1,500 meters, accessible only on foot or by helicopter.

The project takes inspiration and form from the fusion of three images: a tent surrounded by an unspoiled landscape, a cozy and warm mountain cabin, and the irregularly shaped snowy peaks that form the backdrop of the scenery. The result is a simple object that recalls the archetype of a house. Its shape blends with the texture of the wood and integrates into the landscape without invading it, as if it were a piece of rock detached from the mountain.

The shelter can accommodate up to 8 hikers within just 45 m³. The structure, made of wood, is completely modular and disassemblable, with cubes measuring 1 meter per side forming the load-bearing structure. Energy self-sufficiency is ensured by the presence of 2 m² of photovoltaic panels, which generate enough power to run the 4 LED lamps and the halogen lights of the kitchenette. A 1 m³ cistern is included for a minimal water reserve. It is recommended to install the shelter near rivers or bodies of water.
